On the June bank holiday in the blazing sunshine, 40,000 women took to the streets of Dublin for the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon with a number of Donore runners in action including some of our new members. Storming home in 16th place with a superb new PB of 39.13 was Sinead Lambe who is improving by the week. Breda Mahony ran 43.26, Sinead Graham 44.33 PB, despite suffering a cold Rhona Duane did 45.18, Grainne Nolan 45.28, Karen Behan 46.00, Joan McTernan 46.47, Angela Eustace in a new PB of 47.21, Lorraine O’Shea 56.30 and Laura Murray 58.28.
As they came through the finish line, an army of Donore volunteers were hard at work directing finishers and handing out medals. Then there was the customary celebration in Sinnotts afterwards. Well done to all!
