Dublin Juvenile Even-Ages Cross Country

Donore Harriers had a relatively small team out in the Dublin Juvenile Even-Age groups Cross-Country Championships at St. Anne’s Park in Raheny on Sunday.

A total of 23 clubs contested the championships so competition was intense. First into the fray for Donore were Sophie O’Farrell and Sadhbh Parker who finished 41st and 47th respectively in the Girls u/10s race over 1,000m. Sean Kinsella and Michael Barry contested the Boys u/10s category, over the same distance, with Sean finishing a disappointed 13th after a strong league campaign (2nd overall) with Michael further back in 43rd.

Ruairi Fitzgibbon had a steady run to place 51st in the Boys u/14s race (3km), whilst Claire O’Connor placed 18th in the Girls u/16s 4km race.

Brother and sister Paul and Niamh O’Neill both had solid runs in the u/16s and u/18s races respectively. Paul ran consistently to place 25th after 4km, whilst Niamh came 7th in her 4km race which was incorporated into the Junior Women’s race. She was the 11th junior overall. A fine result considering she is still eligible for the u/17s category.
