Michael Manning Dunshaughlin 10k and GV Ryan Games

The big race of last weekend was the popular Michael Manning Dunshaughlin 10k which is known for its fast times.  This was also a favourite race of the late Jim McNamara and in their pre-race materials the organisers remembered him and other Olympians such as Willie Dunne who achieved course records here over the years.

The rain drizzled down before the start but then cleared so conditions were cool and still for the race, past editions have often seen very hot conditions.

First home for the club was Eoin Hannon in 34.33 and George Brady continued his recent good form with 35.33.
First of the women was Anne Curley in 41.46 despite having to walk a good deal of the race due to an ongoing injury.  She was 2nd in her new W45 age group and Julia Hackett was 3rd in the same.

There were PBs from Ken Cronin and Catherine McKeon and Mary Murphy was delighted to run her fastest 10k in years.  The ladies won 3rd team prize (Anne, Rhona, Julia) and tribute again was paid to Jim Mc as the girls collected their prize.
