The weather forced the cancellation of many sports fixtures today including the MSB 5k but yesterday there were some impressive runs around the country from Donore.
John Travers won the Tubbercurry 10k in his adopted county of Sligo in a time of 31.34 and Rossa Hurley was 3rd in 33.07. Eric Keogh had one of his best races of recent times when he came 2nd in the Portlaoise 5k in 14.41.95 only one second off winning the race (DSD’s Hiko Tonosa) and ahead of many international runners like Mick Clohisey, Sean Hehir and Kevin Maunsell. Anthony Ferns finished in 32.44
At the Mullingar half marathon, Chris Muldoon finished faster here 77.27 than in last week’s Bohermeen half marathon achieving 12th place.
