On Sunday 22 September, a group of 19 young athletes from the Donore Harriers Juvenile Distance Running Squad braved the elements and ran up and over two of the highest peaks in the Dublin Mountains – Tibradden and Two Rock. Despite dire weather warnings, the rain mostly held off as the group set off from Tibradden Wood to begin the climb. An hour and a half later, they were back where they had started, lungs and legs burning, having spent a fantastic morning in the mists above Dublin while the city below was still waking up. The morning finished up with a fantastic visit to Zip it where the more adventurous members of the group shimmied up trees and zip lined from great heights. Thanks are due to the parents who accompanied us on this trip and in particular to our ever reliable sponsors 123.ie who’s ongoing support of the juvenile section of the club makes events such as this possible.
