It’s been a busy week for Donore athletes with the BHAA Dunboyne 5 Mile and Graded Meets in Tallaght.
In Dunboyne on Tuesday evening, congratulations to Darren Hand and Fergal Whitty who ran big PB’s of 26:30 and 26:37, also in Dunboyne we had Fergal Swaine 27:32, Ian Redican 32:19, Frank McNally 34:10, Terry Mee 36:05 and Tom Halton 40:46
At the IMRA 10k race at Carrick Mountain in Glenealy with a very steep climb, Sarah Ni Ruairc ran 66.06
At the Graded League in Tallaght on Wednesday, 16 year old Adam Halpin made his 400m debut running a fantastic 56.21 finishing third in grade. Stephen Gaving ran a PB of 4.53.87 in the mile. In the 3K Eric Keogh finished second in 8.44.07 taking some good scalps along the way while Lee van Haeften returned to the track for 9.05.27, a PB for Oisin Fitzgibbon over the same distance with 9.34.95, finally, Des Gill took 12 seconds off his PB with 11.27.95.
In the womens race Sinead Lambe ran a PB of 10.53.37 taking a fantastic 25 second of her previous best. Conditions were very blustery on the night so it looks like there will be even more improvements to come. Well done to all.
At the weekend, well done also to Ciara Grange in the high jump, Emily Geoghegan 100m hurdles and the 200m, Linda Ngamkam competed will in the triple jump and Grace Sheridan in the discus and javelin.
