Dublin Juvenile Track & Field Championships

Last weekend saw great results for our juvenile athletes as the Dublin Juvenile Track and Field Championships came to a close with very impressive 52 medals.

Some fantastic performances for our girls who won 10 gold medals; Laura O’Byrne u/14 High Jump, Rebecca Power u/14 Hammer, Discus and Javelin, Lauren O’Keeffe u/15 Hammer, Clodagh Reid u/17 Hammer, Discus and Shot Putt, Karen Hughes u/17 Javelin and Niamh Dowling u/19 800m. While the boys notched up another 10 gold medals from Kolade Abiodun in u/14 80m, 200m & 75m Hurdles, Max Carey in u/14 Javelin, Jack Rudden-Kelly in u/15 High Jump; Long Jump & Shot Putt, Alex Clerkin in u/15 80m Hurdles & Javelin and Sam Allen in u/19 3,000m.

Seven silver for the girls with Susie O’Farrell winning two medals in u/14 80m & 200m, Lara O’Byrne in u/14 75m Hurdles, Aoife Lynch in u/15 100m & 200m, Cara Brennan in u/15 Discus and Karen Hughes in u/17 Shot Putt. With 13 silver medals for the boys we had, Luke Walker-Browning in u/10 500m, Louis McDonagh in u/13 Javelin, Ryan O’Keeffe in u/13 Shot Putt, Max Carey in u/14 80m; 200m; 75m Hurdles & Long Jump, Jack Rudden-Kelly in u/15 100m & 80m Hurdles, Gabhan O’Thighearnaigh in u/15 High Jump, Alex Clerkin in u/15 Discus, Oisin Fitzgibbon in u/17 3,000m and Rolus Olusa in u/18 400m Hurdles.

To round off the impressive haul of medals the girls won 5 bronze medals between them Eve Reilly in u/15 80m Hurdles, Lauren O’Keeffe in u/15 Javelin, Claire O’Connor in u/16 800m and Karen Hughes in u/17 Hammer & Discus while the boys won 7 bronze, Jack Raftery u/13 600m, Kolade Abiodun in u/14 Long Jump, Iain Durrock in u/15 Discus, Alex Clerkin in u/15 Long Jump & Shot Putt, Stephen Gavin in u/17 1,500m and Eoin Molloy in u/18 Hammer.
