2019 Race
Congratulations to our winners of the 2019 Jingle Bells 5k, Hiko Tonosa of DSDAC and Clíona Murphy of Celtic DCH. Very well done to all who competed on what was a near perfect day for running but for some head wind on the route. We had 1083 adult finishers and approximately 300 under 16s taking part.
Our course which changed because of roadworks, proved to be just as fast as our traditional route with the overall winning time posted by Hiko at 14 mins and 16 secs. Hiko narrowly beat his DSD team mate Emmet Jennings (14:18), with Andrew Coscoran, Star of the Sea AC (14:24), finishing in third. Clíona’s winning time was 16mins and 30secs with Kate O’Neill of MSBAC (17:12) in second place and Maisy O’Sullivan, St Abbans AC (17:28), in third place.
Our first 12 athletes finished within 15 minutes, 127 athletes finished within 18 minutes and 251 athletes were within 20 minutes. That is great running. Very well done to all who competed. The full results of the race can be found HERE.
Thank you to the OPW at The Phoenix Park and the Park Rangers who do a great job every year. The new route and roadworks presented many challenges all round. Thank you to Pop Up Races for their expertise and timing services. Thank you also to the Civil Defence and An Garda Síochána for the safe passage of all our participants. Thank you to the Blanchardstown Brass Band for their great tunes and thank you also to the Last Lap Cafe. A big thank you to all our volunteering members of Donore Harriers who helped out on the day and for all their work up to the day itself. On behalf of Donore Harriers, a special thank you to everyone who took part and for your support of the Jingle Bells 5K. Finally thank you to Bill Griffin Motors our sponsors and support from 123.ie and Dunnes Stores. Some photos to follow soon.
